This policy explains how dermalhealth.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Some are needed to make the site work. Others help us understand how the site is used, but only if you agree to them.

We do not advertise to you

We want to be clear about this, because our old cookie notice was not.

Dermal Health does not run any advertising or marketing cookies on this website.

We do not use Google Ads. We do not use the Meta or Facebook pixel. We do not use TikTok, LinkedIn or any other advertising pixel. We do not build advertising audiences from your visit, we do not sell or share your browsing data, and we do not track you across other websites.

If you have seen an older version of this page, or an older cookie banner, that mentioned “personalised ads” or “advertising cookies”, that wording was wrong. It was a default setting we had not changed. There were never any advertising cookies on this site.

Your choices

When you first visit, a cookie banner asks what you are happy with. You can:

  • Accept all, which turns on our website analytics
  • Reject all, which leaves only the cookies the site cannot work without
  • Customise, to choose category by category

Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, and rejecting does not limit anything on the site. Every page still works.

To change your mind later, click the small privacy icon in the bottom left corner of any page on this site. Your choice is saved for one year, and we will ask again after that.

The cookies we use

Every cookie below was confirmed by an automated scan of 100 pages of this website on 5 September 2026.

1. Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to work, to keep it secure, and to record your cookie choice. They do not need your consent and cannot be switched off.

Cookie Set by Purpose Duration
cookieyes-consent CookieYes Remembers the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask again on every page 1 year
_cfuvid Cloudflare Keeps your connection to the site consistent and helps block automated attacks Session, deleted when you close the browser
rc::a Google reCAPTCHA Tells human visitors apart from automated bots on our contact form Does not expire
rc::c Google reCAPTCHA Works alongside the above during a single visit Session
wpEmojiSettingsSupports WordPress Checks whether your browser can display emoji characters correctly Session

2. Analytics, only with your consent

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used. For example, which pages people read, how they arrived, and roughly which region and device type they used. This tells us which treatment pages are useful and which ones are not.

These cookies are only set if you accept them. If you reject, no analytics cookie is set and no data at all is sent to Google. Not a reduced signal, nothing.

Cookie Set by Purpose Duration
_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes one browser from another 13 months
_ga_RZL8SYB7KD Google Analytics Keeps track of a single visit and counts page views 13 months

How we have set Google Analytics up:

  • Google Signals is switched off, so your visit is not linked to your Google account and is not used to build advertising audiences.
  • Advertising personalisation is switched off.
  • User-provided data collection is switched off, so we never send Google your email address or phone number.
  • The data is used for our own aggregate statistics only. It is not shared with any advertising network.

Google acts as our data processor for this. Google may transfer and store some of this data outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or by the International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

You can read Google’s own explanation of how it handles Analytics data at business.safety.google/privacy.

3. Functional

These support content on the page that comes from another company.

Cookie Set by Purpose Duration
elfsight_viewed_recently Elfsight Used by the Google Reviews display on some pages, to remember which reviews you have already seen Less than a minute
ytidb::LAST_RESULT_ENTRY_KEY YouTube Stored by the YouTube player on pages that carry a video Does not expire

Content from other companies

Some of our pages include content served by other companies. Their own privacy policies apply to anything they collect.

Google Reviews, provided by Elfsight. This shows our real Google reviews on the page. It loads with the page rather than waiting for your cookie choice, and stores the short-lived entry listed above. We are moving to a different reviews provider shortly, and the replacement will load only after you have agreed to functional cookies.

YouTube. Videos on some pages are hosted by YouTube. The player stores the entry listed above when a page with a video loads. YouTube may set further cookies if you press play on a video.

Google reCAPTCHA. Protects our contact form from spam and automated abuse.

Our map. The clinic location map is served through WP Go Maps. The 5 September 2026 scan found no cookies from the map on any page.

What is not here. The scan found no advertising cookies of any kind, on any of the 100 pages checked. No Google Ads, no Meta or Facebook pixel, no TikTok or LinkedIn tags, and nothing that tracks you onto other websites.

Other ways to control cookies

As well as the controls on this site, you can:

Blocking cookies in your browser may affect other websites you use.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy when the website changes and at least once a year. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
