Immediate Aftercare (First 4 Hours)

  • Avoid Touching the Treated Area: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or massaging the injection sites. This helps prevent the filler from shifting or migrating.
  • No Makeup or Skincare Products: Avoid applying makeup, creams, or other skincare products to the treated area for at least 4 hours.
  • Avoid Heat and Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, and hot baths for at least 4 hours. Heat can cause vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and may increase the risk of swelling and bruising.
  • Avoid Strenuous Exercise: Avoid strenuous physical activity or heavy lifting for at least 24 hours. Increased blood flow can increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
  • Avoid Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours, as it can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.

First 24 Hours (Day One)

  • Gentle Cleansing: You can gently cleanse your face using a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing or excessive rubbing of the treated areas.
  • Apply Ice: Apply a cool compress or ice pack (wrapped in a thin cloth) to the treated area for 10-15 minutes every couple of hours. This helps to reduce swelling and bruising.
  • No Sleeping on Face: Try to sleep on your back or on your side, avoiding direct pressure on the treated areas.
  • Avoid Facial Massage: Do not massage the treated areas, even if they feel slightly tender.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help with the healing process.
  • Medications: If discomfort is present, you may use paracetamol as directed. Avoid NSAIDs like ibuprofen or aspirin unless directed by your medical professional, as these can increase bruising.

Next 2 Weeks (Days 2-14)

  • Gradual Return to Normal Routine: You may gradually resume your regular exercise routine after 24 hours, as long as it is well tolerated and you don’t feel any increased bruising or discomfort.
  • Continue to Avoid Excessive Heat: Avoid excessive heat exposure, such as saunas, steam rooms, and prolonged sun exposure.
  • Avoid Dental Work: Where possible, avoid dental appointments for the first 2 weeks as this can cause slight movement in the treated area.
  • Sun Protection: If you are going to be in the sun, be sure to use a broad-spectrum SPF of 30 or greater on the treated area.
  • Follow-Up Appointment (If Needed): Please contact Dermal Health if you have any concerns or if you do not see results aligning with your expectations after 14 days or if any adverse effects are experienced. We may recommend a follow-up appointment to assess your results or provide a touch-up if necessary.

What to Expect
