Microdermabrasion FAQs
→ What happens during the microdermabrasion treatment?
The practitioner will move a hand-held device in a sweeping motion across the face. You will experience an exfoliating type sensation but it is not described as painful. The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes.
→ What should I do after microdermabrasion?
You will be provided with aftercare information but the most important thing is sun protection. Moisturising is important. Una will suggest the best options for you for this.
→ Is there any downtime after microdermabrasion?
Technically, there is no downtime but it’s down to personal preference if you wish to return to work or normal activities. Please bear in mind that your face may be pink or red for a day or two after the treatment.
→ When will I see results from microdermabrasion?
You will start to see results straight after your first treatment. The results will become more apparent in the following days. Treatments are usually performed in a series so it may be the case that further treatments are required to achieve the desired results.
→ Are there any side effects to microdermabrasion treatments?
After the treatment your skin may be pink or red. This will tend to subside over 1 or 2 days after the treatment. In some cases the skin can bruise and you may experience mild swelling. Your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight for a period of time. These symptoms are always temporary.
