Congratulations on your Botox treatment at Dermal Health! Following these guidelines will help you achieve optimal results and minimize the risk of complications.
Please read these instructions carefully.
Immediate Aftercare (First 4 Hours)
Avoid Touching the Treated Area: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or massaging the injection sites to prevent the product from migrating to unintended areas.
Stay Upright: Avoid lying down or bending over for at least 4 hours to ensure the Botox remains in the targeted muscles.
Facial Expressions: Gently exercise the treated muscles (e.g., frown, smile, raise eyebrows) for a few hours. Avoid exaggerated or strenuous facial movements.
No Heat or Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sunlight, tanning beds, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, or baths. Heat can cause vasodilation and increase the risk of bruising.
No Strenuous Exercise: Avoid intense physical activity, heavy lifting, or anything that raises your heart rate significantly.
Avoid Makeup and Skincare Products: Do not apply makeup, creams, or skincare products to the treated areas.
Avoid Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol for at least 24 hours, as it may increase the risk of bruising.
First 24 Hours (Day One)
Continue Avoiding Heat & Sun: Stay out of direct sunlight, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs. Prolonged hot showers should also be avoided.
Gentle Cleansing: Use a mild cleanser and lukewarm water to gently cleanse your face. Avoid scrubbing.
No Sleeping on Your Face: Sleep on your back and avoid applying pressure to the treated areas overnight.
Avoid Strenuous Activity: Light walking is fine, but continue to avoid intense exercise.
Avoid Facial Massage: Do not massage the treated areas, even if they feel tender.
Medications: If discomfort occurs, take paracetamol as directed. Avoid NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin) unless directed by your provider, as they may increase bruising.
Next 2 Weeks (Days 2-14)
Gradual Return to Routine: Slowly resume your regular exercise routine, ensuring there is no increased bruising or discomfort.
Avoid Excessive Heat: Continue avoiding high heat exposure if bruising persists.
Follow-Up Appointment (If Needed): If results are not visible after 14 days or if adverse effects occur, contact Dermal Health to schedule a follow-up assessment or touch-up.
What to Expect
